Found this morning on the Polygraph Wire (Loudoun Virginia Times). Although the news article appears to be somewhat incorrect, tying Polygraph to CVSA I'm sure the bill and arguments in defeating it were plain as day."Polygraph use veto sustained"
"General Assembly members voted April 8 to sustain Gov. Tim Kaine’s vetoes on two bills that would have enabled police officers to use other methods of lie detection in place of polygraph machines in the line of duty.
The two bills sought to increase the efficiency of criminal investigations by allowing federal, state and local law enforcement officers to operate new devices that simultaneously record respiratory and cardiovascular patterns.
The legislation also had been amended to prevent the use of the devices in internal or pre-employment police investigations."
After reading the article I did a Google Search and found this article that must have precluded the veto of the bill by the Governor.

Any how, if this bill (CVSA) was vetoed after having the Sheriff's Association blessing, its a win for quite a few people and perhaps can be used to help dissuade others seeking to promote (CVSA) legislation and acceptance as the "Lie Detector"
Anyone else know more about the successful efforts of those that helped inform the Governor about the woes of Voice Stress Analysis ?
